Nazeli Petrosyan's Coverage on October 15 Conference

On October 15, 2025, within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the year of internationalization of Mkhitar Gosh's scientific heritage, the international scientific conference "Mkhitar Gosh: The Pioneer of Armenian Sociological Thought" was held in the conference hall of the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. The event was attended by sociologists, lawyers, philosophers, as well as teachers and student representatives of the sociological subgroup of the Mkhitar Sebastatsi educational complex.

The conference started with the opening speech of Hayk Nazaryan, Scientific Secretary of Philosophy, Sociology and Law, who emphasized Mkhitar Gosh's role in the formation of Armenian legal and social thought. This was followed by a series of in-depth reports presenting different layers of Gosh's legal and political heritage. Garnik Safaryan spoke about Gosh's state-legal doctrine, analyzing his theoretical approaches. Lilit Sarvazyan presented the issues of property rights regulation in the work "Book of Judgment". Ruben Melikyan referred to the influence of the 12th-century Cilician interpretive literature on Gosh's legal thinking. Volodya Hovsepyan analyzed the problems of the creation and practical application of the "Code of Law", and Rima Mirumyan spoke about the historical-philosophical context of Gosh's legal-political system.

The conference not only had scientific value, but also great educational significance for students. Students of the Research School, who had previously familiarized themselves with the conference project, prepared questions and actively followed the reports, having the opportunity to communicate with leading experts in the field. The event ended with a meeting with Emil Ordukhanyan, Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor, where the importance of the conference was assessed as a platform for valuing scientific heritage and engaging the new generation in education. An agreement was reached for further cooperation.

This meeting became an important step not only for professional development but also for deepening the awareness of national identity, emphasizing the role of Mkhitar Gosh in the history of Armenian sociological and legal thought.
